The Voice of Gilles Servat

Gilles Servat, a living legend of Breton music, lends his iconic voice to the show:

  • Main narrator: Tells the story with genuine emotion

  • Eight-voice text: A rich and profound polyphonic narrative

  • Story told: That of Zacharie Le Rouzic, a passionate archaeologist

  • Music: Traditional Breton melodies incorporated

Gilles Servat, born in 1945, is a singer-songwriter and ardent defender of Breton culture since the 1970s. His iconic song "La Blanche Hermine" has become a Breton anthem. He participated in Dan Ar Braz's L'Héritage des Celtes and remains a leading figure in socially conscious Breton music.

The Story of Zacharie Le Rouzic

At the heart of the story: Zacharie Le Rouzic (1864–1939):

Main character:

  • Self-taught archaeologist with a passion for megaliths

  • First curator of the Museum of Prehistory in Carnac

  • Son of a ragman, entirely self-taught—who rose above his humble origins

  • Monumental excavations: Restoration, study, and protection of menhirs

  • Major legacy: Preserving Brittany's megalithic heritage

  • Exceptional photographer: Systematic documentation of sites

Zacharie Le Rouzic, born on December 24, 1864, in Carnac and died on December 15, 1939, dedicated his life to exploring and preserving the alignments. He excavated major sites, published more than 39 memoirs on the Carnac alignments, and bequeathed his archaeological collection to the museum that now bears his name: "Musée J. Miln – Z. Le Rouzic."

The Skedanoz show traces his fascinating journey, his revolutionary discoveries, and his tireless fight to preserve this thousand-year-old heritage.
